Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a form of hands-on therapy using gentle, soft touch (5 grams, the weight of a nickel) to help regulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the cranium. This is done by applying light touches to a patient’s skull, face, spine and pelvis. The craniosacral system is comprised of cerebrospinal fluid and membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

The nervous system of the human being is responsible for sending, receiving, and processing nerve impulses throughout the body. All the organs and muscles inside your body rely upon these nerve impulses to function. By releasing restrictions in the craniosacral system, the functioning of the central nervous system is enhanced. And by complementing the body’s natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
