FDA Quietly Bans Powerful Life-Saving Intravenous Vitamin C

(Natural News) It would be naive to think that the FDA endeavors to protect the public’s health as its primary focus. Indeed, that would be a conflict of interest, as it serves its master, the pharmaceutical industry. Has the Food and Drug Administration engineered a shortage of intravenous vitamin C as part of an overall attack on natural and non-toxic approaches to healing that compete with prescription drugs? An analysis by Natural Blaze would suggest that the answer is yes.

Natural Blaze claims that a critical shortage of IV bags in general followed an FDA ban on the mass production of intravenous vitamin C. The FDA limited the availability of IV-C and the pharmaceutical industry halted production of injectable vitamins and minerals, after a 60 minute story about the miraculous recovery of a swine flu patient on life support. Because of the shortage of IV-C, doctors called upon compounding pharmacies to produce it. But the FDA began to limit compounding pharmacies after injectable steroids produced by the New England Compounding Center were contaminated with a fungus that caused a deadly outbreak of meningitis. Here is an example of an entire industry being punished for the dubious practices of one compounding pharmacy. Continue reading

Altered Genes, Twisted Truth—How GMOs Took Over the Food Supply

Genetically manipulated foods may be one of the most serious threats not only to our environment but to the health and very survival of future generations. Typically, the blame for the promulgation of genetic engineering of our food is placed on chemical companies.

But there’s actually a hidden back story to how genetically engineered foods were able to reach millions of dinner tables.

Steven Druker, who you may not be aware of, is the attorney who filed a lawsuit in the late ’90s challenging the most important action the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken in this area: its presumption that genetically engineered (GE) foods are Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) and can enter the market without a shred of safety testing.

However, the evidence clearly reveals that the FDA’s GRAS presumption was fraudulent when first announced in 1992 and that it remains fraudulent today. Nonetheless, it has played the central role in allowing inadequately tested GE foods to permeate the American market. There are many components to this story, and Steven is just the man to set the story straight.

Antibiotic Resistance Will Kill 300 Million People by 2050

By Dr. Mercola

Three problems with the US food supply that is making food a source of disease rather than optimal health include: the way our food is raised; the way it’s processed; and the routine use of hazardous drugs and chemicals.

The United States is one of the few countries in the world that produces and processes food in a way that defies both science and common sense.

As noted in the featured TED lecture, 86 percent of every dollar you spend at the grocery store goes toward paying for processing and marketing of the food. A mere 14 percent goes to the farmer that actually grows the food ingredients in question.

This alone should tell you that that inexpensive processed food item you buy is hardly a bargain. Not only are you getting very little real food, as there are so many fillers and additives tossed in, you’re also getting very little in terms of healthy nutrition.

This is important, as your body is not designed to process and thrive on a base of disease causing ingredients like high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oil.

Are You Eating This Ingredient Banned All Over The World?

By Food Babe

Azodicarbonamide 101

  • Azodicarbonamide is a yellow orangish powder, more commonly used commercially in the creation of foamed plastics – like yoga mats, shoe soles, floor mats and window gaskets.
  • The FDA allows food companies (e.g., McDonalds, Wendy’s, Subway, Starbucks, Arby’s, etc.) to use azodicarbonamide as a flour bleaching agent and dough conditioner in any food product giving it a status of GRAS or “Generally Regarded As Safe”.
  • But, the FDA doesn’t even keep track of the companies who use azodicarbionamide as an ingredient. The lack of information leads the FDA to not update or include an toxicity information about this ingredient in its EAFUS or “Everything Added to Food in the United States” database. What Happens When Your Government Chooses to Side-Step Scientific Truth Concerning Food Additives, Vaccines, Drugs, and Genetically Modified/Engineered Foods?

Posted By Dr. Mercola | May 14 2011

Dr. Shiv Chopra is a world renowned scientist, author and public speaker. As a former employee of Health Canada (the Canadian equivalent of the US FDA) for 35 years, he was the Senior Scientific Advisor for the regulatory assessment of food and drugs, including new vaccines. When he changed job titles from human prescription drugs to the Bureau of Veterinary Drugs, the first file that landed on his desk was Eli Lilly’s application to use rBGH in Canada.

In this interview he discusses subjects covered in his most recent book, Corrupt to the Core, which chronicles his many decades fighting for scientific principles against profit-hungry corporations and ultimately against his own bosses and the Canadian government itself. Continue reading

Why Aren’t GMO Foods Labeled?

Asks the NY Times:

Monday, February 21, 2011 by: Ethan A. Huff

(NaturalNews) It is a question that more people should be asking, and one that even some in the mainstream media have begun to entertain: why are genetically-modified (GM) foods, which are patently (no pun intended) different from conventional and organic foods, not required to be properly labeled on food packaging? The answer, dictated directly from the public relations departments of Monsanto and friends via the U.S. government, is that GMOs are safe and identical to natural varieties, and do not require differentiation. But this notion is a flat out lie. Continue reading

FDA Scientists Want to Ban Mercury Amalgam Fillings

FDA Scientific Panel Urges FDA to Stop Amalgam Use in Vulnerable Populations – Will FDA Listen?

Submitted by Annie White on February 15, 2011

We all know that the human body is nothing to be meddled with, pardon my pun, and we all know that metals such as lead or mercury are poisonous. It would seemingly be common sense then that such poisons are kept out of our bodies, yet all over the world people have mercury directly adhered to their teeth by dentists to fill holes left after drilling cavities. Having trusted that the FDA and medical care providers wouldn’t put them in harms way, many now suffer from mercury poisoning due to amalgams. Continue reading
