(NaturalNews) There is a more sinister danger lurking in commercial airline flights than microbes being recycled in cabin air. Something in cockpit and cabin air occasionally visits human lungs and wreaks havoc with human health. There are many victims whose plights are not publicized or not understood by medical authorities, and the international airline and aircraft industries want it that way.

Toxins from contaminated bleed air in the cockpit and cabin have the potential of creating aerotoxic syndrome, which can lead to a long term debilitating battle with your health if the pilots manage to stay conscious enough to get their oxygen masks on and keep from crashing!Bleed Air Dangers

Bleed air is air forced into the airplane for breathing via engine turbine compression sections. The air is cooled and forced into the aircraft interior from inside the engine cowling or cover. Most cabin air is 60% bleed air and 40% recycled air. Pilots are subject to 100% bleed air, so they get hit the hardest from bleed air contaminants.

The contaminants are in engine and hydraulic oils that sometimes leak and burn off vapors into the bleed air. Some of those oils contain large amounts of an organophosphate called tricresyl phosphate (TCP). Organophosphates are nerve gas agents used in insecticides and pesticides, which many nations have banned. They are deadly!

A group of Swiss/German TV investigative journalists swabbed interior cabin samples from 31 different commercial aircrafts to Professor Christian van Netten, a leading toxicologist at the University of British Columbia. Professor van Netten found 28 of those 31 swabs contained TCP!

The Actual Effects

The long term effects are mostly neurological, but sometimes pulmonary, creating various symptoms identical to MS (multiple sclerosis) or Guillain-Barre, a paralysis that sometimes occurs after vaccinations! The symptoms vary in intensity, and they’re often crippling in some way.

Just like vaccine injuries, bleed air contamination incidents from the 1960s on were rarely connected to neurological damage, and the airline industries have made sure it stayed that way, even after knowing of the dangers in 1977.

But now the veil of censorship has been ripped by some key victim activists who have done the research to prove their lawsuits against airlines and aircraft manufacturers. Those victims are mostly airline crews and flight attendants whose repeated exposure to bleed air contaminants makes them most vulnerable to aerotoxic syndrome.

The activist victims are not disgruntled employees looking to get something out of their employers. Many pilots and flight attendants are forced into medical retirement with debilitating health issues.The Independent, reported that 27 pilots suffering from cognitive dysfunction were tested at University College London in 2006, and high amounts of jet-engine oil chemicals were discovered in their blood and fat.

There are incidents where pilots couldn’t function and were losing vision, or were desperately ill until moments after donning their oxygen masks. Sometimes one of the pilots would pass out leaving the other stricken pilot with the task of handling the aircraft. Incapacitated pilots are invitations to disaster.

Passengers Stricken Also

Cabin air filters are useless for protecting against burnt oil contaminants. There are reported cases of passengers who have had problems, some very serious and long lasting, from even one flight where the burnt oil smell was noticeable.

Many crews and passengers have been stricken with serious health effects known as aerotoxic syndrome from toxic organophosphate TCP fumes that get into the ‘bleed air’ systems, which provide breathing air for crews and passengers.

Jet aircraft bleed air systems inside the engines, which ventilate aircraft cockpits and cabins, have been around since the 1960s. Internal documents gathered for victims’ lawsuits show that the commercial airline and aircraft manufacturers have known of contamination hazards from bleed air systems since 1977.

Yet, to this day, how many have seen or heard preflight instructions with warnings and instructions for fumes from bleed air in the cabin? There aren’t even warning sensors and devices to alert everyone on board to don those passenger oxygen masks that could be dropped down. It appears the aircraft industries are circling their wagons against the potential of more lawsuits by pretending aerotoxic syndrome from bleed air contamination doesn’t even exist!

Grounding aircraft while refitting the bleed air systems obviously endangers the airline industry’s bottom line and stock prices. Evidently, actual internal industry information has influenced the design for the newest commercial aircraft. But all those other jet aircrafts use bleed air systems, which are easily contaminated with toxic nerve gas agents from engine oils.

Protecting and Healing Yourself

Some very courageous crews and flight attendants, who have been forced to retire because of long term debilitating neurological and lung disorders, broke the ice a few years ago with lawsuits. They’re armed with scientific data and lots of anecdotal reports. They’ve organized two international groups, The Aerotoxic Association and GCAQE (Global Cabin Air Quality Executive).

These two groups were originated mostly by UK, EU, and Australian crews. Their efforts have made inroads into Australian and British Parliaments, and investigations have begun with industry lobbied opponents countering with industry lies. But American crews and passengers are subject to the same dangers. Dr. Ross of London University estimates 200,000 are adversely affected annually.

Former British Airways pilot Captain Tristan Loraine, an aerotoxic syndrome victim himself, produced an excellent award winning documentary called “Welcome Aboard Toxic Airlines”, which has been distributed to various UK government officials.
